This information covers all Operating systems that utilize the IDE bus.
PLEASE NOTE:
The CDSDDA is not hot swappable and only takes ATA Cards.
This is the only drive that is not hot swappable.
The CDSDDA is a passive device and does not come with any drivers.
If you are having problems getting the CDSDDA to operate properly, please try the following:
1. Check the computers BIOS settings and see if the Heads\Sectors\Cylinders are correct for that size of ATA card. Some ATA card's H\S\C's are in the user manual.
2. Check to see if the cable and power supply are installed correctly.
3. Check the Master\Slave jumper on the PCB. The correct positions are listed in the manual.
4. Is the ATA card properly formatted?
5. Is the IDE port Disabled or Enable in the BIOS settings? If it's disabled please enable.
6. Check cable for broken or missing connections.
7. Check pins and connectors on the computer and the CDSDDA. Also check the pins inside of the PC Card connector.
8. Has FDISK been run on the ATA card? If it hasn't, then use FDISK to remove the DOS partition. Shutdown the system. Bring the system back up, re-FDISK and place a partition onto the card. Format the PC card. Finally install the O/S that you will be running off the card.
9. Still nothing then the next step would be to check the PC card.
