Overview

The OmniDrive Pro is an external Parallel PC Card reader/writer designed to support all types of Memory Cards including SRAM, Linear Flash, ATA Flash, CompactFlash*, SmartMedia* and PC Card Hard Drive  OMNIDrive Pro is especially designed for use with Windows NT and ATA Hard Disk (type III). It also contains additional utilities capable of storing programs and data on memory cards in user-defined formats, performing single-byte-access on card contents and programming of Linear Flash Cards.

The well-known universal application interface (API) enables direct access from a user’s program to any memory card. The API is available for 16-bit and 32-bit applications. 

In addition to the standard printer port (SPP), OmniDrive Pro benefits from the bi-directional EPP printer port which is available in nearly every PC computer today. Thus, a transfer rate up to 1 Mbyte/sec could be achieved (comparable to SCSI). 

The printer port is passed through using a daisy chain mechanism so another device such as printer can be used simultaneously. 

Exceptional data security is achieved by special means against electrostatic discharge. In addition, the device features a watchdog, low voltage monitoring and power-fail detection. Continuous checksum monitoring during data transfer provides for additional data security. A robust aluminum case protects the device and PC Card.

The OmniDrive Pro supports MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98/Me, Windows XP/2000 and Windows NT. 

The OmniDrive Pro comes with PC Card Manager software which is a 32-bit Windows utility for easy and professional handling of SRAM, Linear Flash and ATA Flash Cards
